Panther MES and quality tracking solutions go live at UP Paper in Manistique, Michigan
Manistique, Michigan – UP Paper replaced an aging manufacturing execution system (MES) at its paper mill in Manistique, Michigan with MillTools MES on Tuesday, December 10, 2022. Transition to MillTools at the mill in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is major upgrade of the companies operations and manufacturing intelligence capabilities. The upgrade included MES, quality tracking and several business interfaces for third-party technologies.

UP Paper joins several papermaking and converting facilities in Michigan, who rely on Panther for MES, quality tracking and quality control systems (QCS). Additional Panther upgrades continue at the mill. Panther continues to enhance the MES to meet needs specific to the mill, and Panther Systems will install new interfaces to integrate a new third-party business system in the coming months.
EverFresh software
UP Paper will never have to purchase an upgrade of MillTools or TestCentral. Panther continuing service agreements include more than around-the-clock support. Supported customers receive a benefit called EverFresh. The benefit includes unlimited software updates at no cost to customers.
