Celebrating the holidays by giving

Panther Systems has always been an unconventional technology company. We credit our people for their uncommon dedication. Our business is a family, and this year has shown us again how generous, warmhearted and giving that family is.
Years ago, Panther’s leadership chose to make service the cornerstone of the company. The decision was an easy one. Though recognized in the pulp, paper and nonwoven verticals for certain data, automation and advanced process control technologies, Panther Systems customers come to know us for our service. Imagine an entire company of people anxious to respond to others’ needs. Our matrix organization or support infrastructure help us get the job done, but we are talking people, not a business. It is a spirit of giving that is their nature, and we think it sets Panther apart. Our willingness to serve defines us. And yet, what our people do professionally tells only part of their stories.
Our Panther family is giving their whole hearts in even more important ways. They care for family members and loved ones. They provide temporal relief in their communities and assist others back to self-reliance. They show this kindness and compassion without fanfare. It is no surprise that our people use their personal time and energy to lighten others’ burdens, make families’ Christmases special or cure their neighbors’ loneliness during the holidays.

So, here is a public thank you to our employees for their extraordinary efforts inside and outside Panther. You have cared for our customers and continued to innovate amidst conditions nobody could have imagined a short time ago. You continue to work safely and diligently in spite of obstacles. You have taken new systems live at multiple customer facilities in 2020, continuing a brisk pace of new installations and continuing to service customers onsite and remotely. You left your families during trying times to support essential manufacturing infrastructure, while adapting to new travel and customer safety protocols without hesitation. You continue to make strides daily in development and operations that ensure a prosperous future for Panther and its customers. You prove that we can do difficult things. Your accomplishments are exceptional, and your spirit to serve is unwavering.
And when your work at Panther was done, you made lives better in your own homes, nearby and in neighboring areas. Thank you, thank you and thank you.
While this spirit of service made a technology company what it is today, giving improves all of us — individuals, communities, nations and the world we share. The author C.S. Lewis wrote, “Nothing that you have not given will ever be really yours.” Perhaps, the Panther family is onto something.
May we all look past our woes and foes of 2020 to look up, around and ahead. If you are wishing for something special this holiday season, then we hope you will receive it. May you give something special as well, because giving enriches the giver. Whatever our beliefs and traditions, may we all make giving a cornerstone of our celebrations.
