PaperCon 2012

Ah, New Orleans in the springtime!  No humidity, beautiful sunny skies with comfortable temperatures, interesting naval and historic restored sailing ships along the Mississippi River Walk for your touring pleasure.

What a wonderful treat - to be able to see and experience all that the Big Easy has to offer and to have such a huge number of papermakers all in one place.  Huge number, oh yes, there was indeed a huge number of participants in PaperCon 2012 in conjunction with the bi-annual Control Systems Conference at the Sheraton New Orleans April 20th through April 25th.  Panther Systems is always happy to contribute to the vendor pool, to see old friends, and make a few new ones along the way.

This year’s PaperCon theme was ‘Growing the Future’.  It was quite evident that the paper industry is growing and rebounding in the US.  The evidence was in the large volume of vendors (two whole floors of trade show space), over 1,500 registered attendees, and the relaxed atmosphere in which to learn and absorb the ever-changing technology of papermaking.  An abundance of technical classes were offered on many different aspects of making paper in today’s world.

An entertaining, inspirational key note speaker and bestselling author, Jeffrey Hayzlett, was there to kick off the start of the conference.  His newest book, Running the Gauntlet, was an instant hit after his presentation.  Mr. Hayzlett was observed enthusiastically chatting away with attendees as he signed copies of his book being purchased.

PaperCon 2011

2011 TAPPI PaperCon is quickly approaching. The theme for this year's conference is "Re-Think Paper - Lean and Green". This event will focus on lean manufacturing, operational excellence and environmental performance throughout three program tracks.

This year, in a change from our past presence at the show, Panther is joining with Mahlo America, Inc., USA headquartered in Spartanburg, SC and Advanced Service Providers (ASP) out of Green Bay, WI. We will be on the tradeshow floor to greet you in a newly-designed booth showing our united efforts to improve production in the Paper industry.

Panther-Mahlo-ASP have developed exciting ways to bring together Control System software solutions with state-of-the-art scanners and sensors, along with highly-skilled maintenance on your Control Systems. We want to share our success stories with all those who attend this year's PaperCon, so please stop by and say Hello.

PaperCon 2010

Panther Exhibits at PaperCon 2010 - Atlanta, GA was a wonderful choice for this year’s TAPPI PaperCon Conference and Trade Fair. From the unique boutiques of the Virginia-Highlands to the remarkable Atlanta Aquarium, Atlanta was polished for our visit. Panther was delighted to be a part of the festivities that come with being a participant/exhibitor at this event. As an active member of the TAPPI organization, we readily stepped up to sponsor the Annual Runnability Fun Run. Numerous discussions and sessions were in full swing showing many signs to support the fact that the paper industry is turning around with renewed enthusiasm. Namely, turnout was up by close to 60% which represents attendees from 40 states and 25 countries. What an encouraging sign! Once again Panther folks met up with old friends in the industry and gathered several new associates along the way. For us, that was the highlight of the TAPPI event. As we all know, companies cannot survive in any industry without diligent connection to their clients and listening to their needs and concerns. At Panther we strive to do just that – stay in tune with the needs of the ever-changing paper industry. We hear you and we want to help keep your operations successful. As the TAPPI event was winding down, it became clear to this observer, how great the paper industry individuals truly are when it comes to banding together to resolve troubling production and quality issues.
